Things found at State and County Fairs

All of these things were found at the Marion County and Indiana State Fair last year.

(Click on the images to see them at a larger size...)

This was the actual ferris wheel seat that the King, Elvis Presley sat in while filming the movie “World’s Fair.”

Man... if this chair could talk...

This is from the Marion County Fair. I just liked this shot and thought it was a cool piece of pop art. It also segues nicely to the next picture of a vending booth at the State Fair that sells “Elephant Ears” as well as...

... Fried Dough. Geez. You don't get much more primal than that, unless you’re selling raw, uncooked dough. I also like the signs: "always fresh... always delicious..."

This was inexplicably wedged in the middle of an agricultural display at the state fair celebrating uniquely Indianian products.

I guess that these tiny roach grills are made here in Indiana...

From Roach Rotisserie to Rat Roulette. Yep, it’s like roulette but with a rodent.

Truth be told, I actually first saw this, uh, sport at the North Georgia Fair. Go figure...

“If you open up a cat” ... you’re inviting a visit from the Behavorial Sciences division of the FBI. This was in the 4H display at the Marion County Fair. I felt like alerting the authorities before someone got hurt...

I didn’t know that George W. Bush was at the Indiana State Fair...

Did I mention that they had everything at this fair?
